A 24h forecast is provided for four major NOAA/GOES flare classes: M1+, M5+, X1+ and X5+. The cross '+' here means 'cumulative', so any flare with class at least as high as this threshold is counted. The forecasts are automatically updated each 3 hours i.e. at 00, 03, 06, 09, 12, 15, 18 and 21 UTC on any given day. So, while nominally there is no latency in the forecasts, the processing of prior magnetograms to be able to give results in fixed intervals implies an implicit latency of up to 2 hours.
